HISTORY

North Horr Technical and Vocational College is a government-registered TVET institution under the Ministry of Education, State Department of Technical, Vocational Education and Training located in North Horr town of North Horr Constituency in the vast Marsabit County. It is registered in accordance with the TVET Act, 2013 Section 20 (1) to offer technical, vocational and entrepreneurship training at Levels 3, 4, 5 and 6. It is situated approximately 200km from Marsabit town and adjacent to the Chalbi Desert.
The construction of North Horr TVC began back in 2012 and was completed by 2014. The installation of the value-added equipment by AVIC International commenced next and continued for a while. The institution was opened in March 2020, but due to the COVID-19 crisis at the time, this was pushed back to September of the same year, when physical learning resumed in all educational centers nationwide. The first staff to report at the institution were Mr. George Gitonga (first principal) and other trainers (both PSC and BOM). The first cohort of trainees was admitted to the institution the same month and learning kicked off successfully.

North Horr TVC is managed by Board of Governors (BOG) and the administration comprising of the Principal, Deputy Principal, Registrar, Dean, HOSs and HODs.

 Runyenjes TVC is located in Embu County and Kyeni Sub-county, Karurumo ward, Karurumo Village (Kavai). It is located along Ena- Ishiara road, 12 kms from Embu- Meru road and about 1.5 kms off Karurumo shopping centre.
